Placer Rides

Placer Rides is a mileage reimbursement program in support of individuals unable to drive or use public transit.

Eligible riders find a driver, usually a friend, family member, or neighbor to take them to medical appointments, the grocery store, or other essential trips. Each month, riders request mileage reimbursement that they give to their driver. If a driver is occasionally unavailable, Placer Rides may be able to pay for a “last resort” trip through a commercial service.

Eligibility for Placer Rides is limited to individuals who satisfy all of the following three criteria:

  1. Individuals unable to drive and have no other transportation option available;
  2. Individuals that reside in Placer County;
  3. Individuals 60 years of age or older, or individuals with a disability or with low income.

Placer Rides is administered by Seniors First on behalf of the Western Placer Consolidated Transportation Services Agency (WPCTSA).

To request an application, call or email Seniors First at 530-889-9500 or PlacerRides@SeniorsFirst.org.
